Japan's prime minister has reaffirmed plans to restart nuclear reactors that comply with new safety standards, saying the country's dependency on overseas fuels is now greater than it was during the oil shocks of the 1970s.

Nuclenor has submitted a licence renewal application for the single-unit Santa María de Garoña nuclear power station to the Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (CSN), Spain's nuclear regulator, the company has said in a statement.

Russian and South Africa have signed an intergovernmental agreement that lays the foundations for the construction of up to eight new nuclear units in South Africa, Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom has said.

The 4th Edition of European Master in Innovation in Nuclear Energy (EMINE) in the frame work of the European Institute of Technology - KIC InnoEnergy is now open for registration.

Mobility track: First year at Spain and Sweden, second year at France.
