Foro Nuclear is open to dialogue regarding the energy policy that the Government defines

In relation to the varying information on what is the position of the nuclear sector regarding the future of nuclear power, Foro Nuclear wishes to communicate that the Spanish nuclear industry is fully open to cooperating with the Government, which is responsible for the country's energy policy, in all decisions made regarding the future of nuclear power in Spain.

The nuclear sector is wholly aligned with the principles of decarbonization, assurance of supply and economic competitivity in the interest of citizens and of our country's industrial fabric. In this sense, nuclear power plays a significant role in the attainment of these goals, as is being acknowledged in Europe.

We believe that, for nuclear power to be viable, it must be regarded from an economic and fiscal viewpoint, similarly to the rest of technologies.

We call attention to the fact that the Spanish nuclear sector covers all the operative costs, especially the cost of managing the radioactive waste produced at nuclear power plants.
