ENERGÍA 2025 celebrates its 40th anniversary as a leading statistical publication in the sector

Foro Nuclear has released the 2025 edition of ENERGÍA, its statistical tool on energy and the environment, which celebrates its 40th edition. This new edition includes updated data on the national and international energy landscape.

Since its first edition in 1985, ENERGÍA has evolved alongside the energy sector, establishing itself as a key reference for the study of the energy system. The fully revised and updated 2025 edition compiles both current and historical data, making it an essential resource for professionals, researchers and decision makers.

Organized into ten chapters, ENERGÍA 2025 offers a detailed analysis of the national and international energy landscape. Using current and historical data series, it addresses topics such as energy production and consumption, climate change, greenhouse gas emissions and the role of different energy sources: coal, gas, oil, renewables and nuclear energy.

ENERGÍA 2025 provides a comprehensive overview of the electricity mix, with current and historical data on all energy generation technologies in Spain and internationally

Four decades dedicated to energy analysis

Since its first edition, this publication has incorporated new methodologies and sources of information to stay aligned to the sectors’ evolution. In this commemorative edition, it reinforces its role as a rigorous tool for dissemination and analysis, within a global context shaped by decarbonization goals and the energy transition.

Foro Nuclear considers that nuclear energy is an essential technology to ensure electricity supply and mitigate climate change, and ENERGÍA 2025 dedicates a specific section to this topic. Chapter 3 offers an in-depth analysis of nuclear power plants in Spain and worldwide including data on operation, licensing, key dates, capacity factors, uranium production and the number of national and international operating reactors.

With over half a century present in Spain’s energy mix, nuclear energy is the only source that has consistently provided over 20 % of the country’s electricity generation for thirteen consecutive years. In 2004, it supplied 19.98 % of the electricity and prevented the emission of around 20 million tons of CO.

Available in multiple formats

ENERGÍA 2025 is available (only in Spanish) in PDF format and will soon have an online digital version. This allows access to intuitive and downloadable charts and tables. A printed version may also be requested.

Do not hesitate to take a look and stay up to date with all the data energy and environment-related data.
