ENERGY 2023, a reference publication in energy and the environment, is now available!

Once again, we present the statistical publication ENERGY 2023, a true reference for the energy sector in Spain that Foro Nuclear has been publishing for over 35 years.

ENERGY 2023 presents data, statistics and current and historical information on the energy sector in Spain and the world. We cover topics sucha as primary and final energy, electricity, climate change and the different energy sources including nuclear, an essential technology that significantly contributes to the guarantee of supply and the mitigation of climate change.

ENERGY 2023 presents data, statistics and current and historical information on the energy sector in Spain and the world

In its ten chapters, this compendium presents numerous data on primary and final energy, electricity, nuclear energy, oil, gas, carbon, renewable energies and storage, radioactive waste and radiological protection, climate change, units and acronyms.

Nuclear energy in full detail

This statistical publication presents abundant data on nuclear power plants in Spain and the rest of the world, such as operational numbers, milestones and historical dates, requests for the renovation of operation licenses, power and operational factors, production and uranium reserves as well as the number of  reactors in operation, among many others.

ENERGY 2023 presents updated information on nuclear energy, a source that guarantees continuous, reliable and safe electric supply

In 2022, the Spanish nuclear fleet, which as always operated with maximum safety guarantees, provided a firm and continuous electric supply and contributed to the stability of the electric grid. The global performance indicators of Spanish nuclear power plants were among the best in the world with a load factor of 90.40%, a time availability factor of 91.98%, a unit capability factor of 91.32% and an unplanned capability factor of 2.50%, which reflects the reliability of its operation.

In 2022, the global performance indicators for the Spanish nuclear plants were among the best in the world

With half a century operating in Spain, nuclear energy is the only technology that has produced over one fifth of the electricity in the country for over twelve years. Its contribution to the mitigation of climate change is supported by data: in 2022 it produced 31.75% of the emissions-free electric production and its contribution prevented the emission of around 20 million tons of CO2 to the atmosphere.

Nuclear energy is essential to the fight against climate change. In 2022, its contribution prevented the emission of around 20 million tons of CO2 to the atmosphere.

How can you access ENERGY 2023?

Just like all of Foro Nuclear's publications, ENERGY 2023 is available in digital format and online. This will allow you to consult and download many graphic resources in a simple and intuitive manner. You may also request it in print (in Spanish, shipping only to Spain).
