Poland takes note of Spain for its nuclear development
Foro Nuclear coordinated, with the support of ICEX (Foreign Commerce Institute), a Corporate Meeting among nuclear companies from Spain and Poland. It was heldMay 29 to June 1st in Madrid and different Spanish cities with nuclear facilities.
Poland has confirmed its nuclear project with the construction of six big reactors to reduce its dependency on coal in the 2040 deadline. According to the timeline, the construction of the first nuclear power plant will start in 2026 and the first reactor will start up in 2033. The rest of units will be implemented every 2 or 3 years.

Due to this nuclear development, the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment, which manages the country’s nuclear activities and organises international visits from the companies in the sector, took an interest in nuclear energy in Spain and organized this Corporate Meeting,. The program includes a technical conference, bilateral meetings and visits to different Spanish facilities.
Spain-Poland Meeting started on May 29at the ICEX headquarters in Madrid. the President Foro Nuclear Ignacio Araluce and the director of the Nuclear Energy Department in the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment, Pawel Pytlarczyk, presented the situation of nuclear energy in Spain and the nuclear future of Poland, respectively. Next, the technological capacities of the participating companies were presented and over 150 bilateral meetings were celebrated.
Managers from 40 companies and Polish and Spanish institutions participated in the Business Encounter Spain-Poland
The three following days were dedicated to visiting Ensa, a manufacturer of big components for nuclear power plants, Newtesol, a manufacturer of nuclear equipment below 50 tonnes, Tecnatom, an engineering company, and the Almaraz Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant.
The Polish delegation was composed of 25 company managers, three commerce chamber managers, two members of the Ministry of Energy and Climate, which participated in the organisation of this event, as well as a market analyst from the Spanish Commercial Office in Warsaw. On the Spanish side there 15 Foro Nuclear members were present: Amphos 21, Coapsa, Empresarios Agrupados, Ensa, Enusa, FABE, GDES, GE Hitachi, Iberdrola, IDOM, Konecranes, Ringo Válvulas, Tecnatom, Virlab and Westinghouse.
ICEX support to the internationalisation of the Spanish nuclear area
Once again, Foro Nuclear has the support of ICEX for this business activity via its headquarters in Madrid and the Spanish Commercial Office in Warsaw.
The international development of the Spanish nuclear sector leads to Foro Nuclear coordinating its presence in trade fairs, exhibitions and international congresses and organising business encounters with different countries. As a continuation of many other meetings, Foro Nuclear recently celebrated a Business Meeting with France and another meeting will be taking place in the Czech Republic.
